~ the hue of dusk mirrors the room's insides

we stay with silence

an unfamiliar companion

we greet newfound warmth

with slow limbs and soft eyes

we watch Time stretch to

meet what's always been

we tend to tentative tenderness

practicing

the practice of returning

and then It comes

sudden, slick

brutal bite limbs flail, eyes dart limbs brace, eyes wide

limbs hold, eyes glaze

It knows the deepest cut

And I remember

I am Wide

I am Space

I am a Field of Grace

tethered like a tail

moving like a snail

to beneath beneath

~ the hue of dusk holds our insides

we stay with both

tension and space

we greet It

and give it width we watch it

see more if it~self we tend to

it and we practice returning
